Lead Technical Project Manager

This position is a senior leadership role for an EPC business, working on key energy transition projects in Australia.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality technical projects on time. The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Design Manager or similar, with primary design engineering experience and relevant tertiary qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Project Management: Leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality technical projects on schedule.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaising with clients, internal and external teams, and construction to ensure alignment and integration of project solutions.
  • Cost Control: Monitoring and controlling project expenditures using robust tracking systems to optimise budgets and prevent overruns.
  • Project Governance: Ensuring all deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards through effective QA processes.
  • Technical Oversight: Directing primary & secondary design, conducting design reviews, and collaborating with external consultants on electrical studies.
Requirements:
  • Proven Experience in Senior Leadership or Similar Roles on Major Energy Infrastructure Projects (HV/EHV Substations).
  • Primary Design Engineering Experience.
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering).
  • CPEng or Working Towards It.
  • Membership (or Eligibility) with a Relevant Engineering Body (e.g., Engineers Australia).
