
Skilled Tradesperson

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as skilled tradespeople equipped to meet industry demands.
This is an opportunity for you to work on a range of exciting projects, including new home builds and renovations. As a Woodworking Professional, you will have the chance to study drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures.
You will be working full-time, 40 hours per week. You will also have the opportunity to complete your trade with one of our Host Employers, who will provide in-depth knowledge and guidance to help you become trade qualified within 4 years.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Measure materials.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Carry out calculations.
- Order and select timbers and materials, and prepare layouts.
- Cut materials, assemble and nail cut and shaped parts.
- Erect framework and roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and verify trueness of structures.
- Nail fascia panels, sheathe roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and door and window frames.
- Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
- Cut wood joints.
- May construct concrete formwork.
- May repair existing fittings.
- May work with plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:
- An interest and commitment to working in construction.
- A White Card or the ability to obtain one ASAP.
- A current Driver's License or be close to obtaining one, and have your own reliable transport.
- Certificate I or II in Construction is advantageous.
- Work experience within the construction industry is highly desirable.
- Be physically fit, self-disciplined, and have high attention to detail.
- Be reliable, resilient, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to take direction and take the safety of yourself and team members seriously.
- Have your own basic tools (including nail bag).
