Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced terminal operations manager to lead our Perth-based intermodal terminal operations. The successful candidate will drive productivity, strategic alignment, and operational excellence while promoting a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Champion Safety: Lead and promote a culture of safety across all operations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Leadership & Coaching: Provide direction and support to direct reports, fostering a result-driven, customer-focused, and commercially minded culture.
- Performance Management: Coach and advise team members to achieve performance goals, develop potential successors, and influence operational strategies.
- Operational Excellence: Apply analytical skills to enhance service delivery, drive productivity, and implement process improvements.
- Budget & Resource Management: Oversee financial and operational budgets, resource allocation, on-time performance, and safety.
- Priority Management: Lead and prioritize scheduled, unscheduled, response, and emergency operations.
- Workplace Culture: Embrace and drive workplace culture and change, providing expert advice and support.
- Communication & Negotiation: Communicate effectively with managers, teams, customers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
- Customer Satisfaction: Implement strategies to meet or exceed customer requirements, including scheduling, shutdowns, and overhauls.
- Compliance & Innovation: Ensure compliance with legislative and company standards, and leverage new innovations to drive growth and improvement.
- Formal Qualifications: In Logistics, Maintenance, Operations, and/or Management.
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of terminal logistics operations and supply chain.
- Leadership Experience: Substantial experience in leadership and team management within a terminal operations environment.
- Operational Management Skills: High-level skills in financial and budget control, and operational business management.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex and changing business needs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate effectively with diverse work groups.
- People Impact Understanding: Insight into how people issues impact business and strategies for creating profit and value.
- Consensus Building: Capability to reach agreements and consensus despite differing goals and priorities.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in computer skills and operational systems.
