Become A Young Peoples Education Navigator

You will be responsible for collaborating with the young person and their supports to construct and enact an education re-engagement plan, with the goal of returning the student to education. This may involve working with schools and vocational training providers, and identifying and addressing any underlying issues that are impacting the individual's ability to engage in education.
To be successful in this role, you will require relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development/Community Welfare, or other equivalent. You will also need to have experience working with family units, adolescents and parents, and an understanding of the impacts of Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol, Family Violence, out-of-home care, Child Protection and child development.
This is a maximum term full-time position, with two positions available until 30 June 2026. You will be employed by a large non-profit organisation that provides a range of services to support vulnerable children and families.
About The Role
- Work with young people and their families to address barriers to education and engagement.
- Collaborate with the young person and their supports to construct and enact an education re-engagement plan.
- Identify and address any underlying issues that are impacting the individual's ability to engage in education.
