About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Casual Scientific/Technical Officer to join our Simulation Learning team in Technical Services at Queensland University Of Technology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting learning and teaching across the nursing and paramedicine disciplines in the Faculty of Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of simulation-based learning experiences for students and staff
  • Collaborate with academic staff and other technical officers to design and deliver high-quality learning environments
  • Provide expert advice on the use of simulation equipment and technology
  • Maintain and troubleshoot simulation equipment to ensure optimal performance
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in an area relevant to nursing or paramedicine, or an Associate Diploma level qualification with at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, or training
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team using excellent interpersonal skills with a proven capacity to communicate effectively
  • Ability to effectively organise and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines and competing priorities
  • Well-developed problem solving skills including the ability to contribute to continuous improvement
  • An understanding of theoretical aspects and experience in the practical application of relevant nursing/paramedicine skills, as well as the ability to use specialised equipment associated with these techniques
  • High-level digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant equipment specific software or the ability to quickly acquire these skills
