About the Opportunity

The Mel Senior Advisor will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Investing in Women (IW) program, a multi-country Australian Government initiative in Southeast Asia. The program aims to improve women's economic participation as employees and entrepreneurs, and influence the enabling environment to promote Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE).

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the IW program in implementing, monitoring, and reporting against program activities, tracking results and leading outcome evaluation activities.
  • Design and implement quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, research, and reporting for review of IW program pathways' progress against their Theories of Change.
  • Work with IW pathway teams and counterparts within partner organizations to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the MEL Director in recruiting and managing short-term advisors carrying out MEL activities, research, or analysis.
  • Provide written and verbal reporting of MEL findings to key IW staff and stakeholders, including through PowerPoint presentations and infographics.
  • Lead pathway learning agendas, including through internal consultations and learning events, analysis of available evidence, and dissemination of learning products for internal and external audiences.
  • Support periodic review and update of the IW Theory of Change and MEL system.
  • Track progress against workplans, ensuring efficient, effective, and timely delivery, and report these to the Director, identifying any potential risks and areas requiring further support.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in social sciences, preferably with a focus on quantitative and qualitative MEL, data collection/research, and analysis of data.
  • Ability to present findings clearly and concisely (in writing and verbally) and to target communication to meet the needs of different stakeholder groups and end-users of information.
  • Experience engaging with senior counterparts and stakeholders to coordinate and execute evaluation activities, disseminate findings, and build knowledge capacity.
  • High proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with competency in other software such as SPSS and Strata also desirable.
  • Flexibility and teamwork approach; experience in working effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with private sector stakeholders highly desirable.
