We are seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to support the Transurban QLD Network in driving environmental compliance, mentoring teams and ensuring high standards across our operations.

This role offers a unique blend of office and field-based work with deliverable outcomes and annual performance reviews.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading environmental assurance activities including audits, inspections and control checks, supporting environment compliance with legislation, regulations and project standards, mentoring field crews and leadership teams to embed sustainability into daily operations, managing environmental incidents and leading investigations with corrective actions, preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, assisting with sustainability initiatives and mandatory reporting, collaborating with subcontractors, suppliers and regulators to maintain high environmental standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading environmental assurance activities
  • Mentoring field crews and leadership teams
  • Managing environmental incidents and leading investigations
  • Preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting with sustainability initiatives and mandatory reporting

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering Management or related field
  • Solid experience in operational or major project environments, preferably in the road transport sector
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication, mentoring and stakeholder engagement skills
  • ICAM Lead Investigator and Auditor Training
  • Valid C class drivers' licence and construction white card
