Ground Support Equipment Operator

A career as a ground support equipment operator at our aviation charter service company in Perth offers the opportunity to work outdoors and be part of a dynamic team. This role involves operating and maintaining various pieces of ground support equipment, ensuring safe and efficient movement of baggage, cargo, and passengers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate ground support equipment, such as baggage handlers and tow tractors, to load and unload baggage and cargo safely and efficiently.
  • Sort and load baggage onto the correct flights and ensure secure luggage handling.
  • Clean and maintain aircraft interiors between flights, removing trash and restocking essential items.
  • Follow strict safety protocols to prevent hazards on the ramp area.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with their needs and directing them to their gates or providing special assistance.
  • Evaluate and process cargo and baggage according to security regulations.
  • Towing/pushback of aircraft and toilet and water servicing duties are also an integral part of this role.
  • Maintain accurate records of flights, baggage, and cargo, ensuring timely completion of necessary documentation.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions is essential.
  • Proficiency in operating ground support equipment and adherence to safety guidelines are crucial.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration are essential.
  • Lifting capacity up to 25 kg is necessary for this position.
  • Current ASIC and ADA certifications are mandatory.
  • Dangerous Goods by Air Awareness training is also required.
