The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) is a specialist public sector entity that provides a full range of audit services to the Australian Parliament, the Australian Government and public sector entities.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Senior Director, Quality Frameworks. This role will play a critical part in driving accountability and transparency in the Australian Government sector through quality evidence-based audit services and independent reporting to Parliament, the Executive and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing plans, policies, and processes that support quality management, independence, and integrity in the ANAO.
  • Supporting the leadership of groups within the ANAO to improve governance and quality standards.
  • Preparing high-quality reports for the Auditor-General of Australia that set out how the quality framework has been operating and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assisting with the planning and performance of quality assurance activities conducted over ANAO audits.
  • Providing secretariat support to the ANAO's Quality Committee, including the preparation and review of Quality Committee papers, minutes, and reports.
  • Oversight of the work of junior staff, including providing coaching, guidance, and feedback.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and a commitment to deliver high-quality written outputs.
  • Experience working within a team and willingness to work collaboratively across different teams/service groups.
  • The ability to establish positive working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and implementing policies, processes, and or guidance.
  • Experience looking at how policies, processes, and or guidance have been implemented and whether the result is as intended.
  • A willingness to exercise autonomy and responsibility under broad guidance.
  • A willingness to learn and develop expertise in quality management and integrity in a public sector audit context.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000 per annum, plus benefits.
