About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Developmental Psychologist to join our Neonatal Services team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for conducting developmental assessments of infants and preschool children in our newborn outpatient follow-up clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive cognitive assessments to evaluate cognitive development and potential developmental delays
  • Provide leadership and education to staff on developmental care practices
  • Coordinate referrals for infants and children requiring further assessment and develop treatment plans in consultation with families and staff
  • Ensure evidence-based practice and a philosophy of individualized support underpins all elements of clinical care
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Developmental Psychologist who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. You will have a strong background in developmental psychology, with a focus on neonatal care and development.

Requirements:
  • Relevant undergraduate/qualifying degree in Psychology
  • Registration as a Psychologist with the PBA, with a minimum of five years professional experience as a Psychologist Grade 2 (or equivalent)
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area, particularly neonatal care and development
  • Demonstrated performance excellence in patient- and family-centred care approach, developmental care models in a neonatal setting
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills for providing psychological support for a caseload of infants and neonates (often premature) and pre-school age children with complex needs
