Disability Support Worker

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional care and support to people with disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients, supporting them to live independently and achieve their goals.

The role involves working with male and female clients with a range of mental disabilities, providing support and mentoring to increase their independence. You will also be responsible for supporting participants to engage in community-based activities, modeling and encouraging appropriate social behaviors as necessary.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a supportive and caring nature, and a commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives. You will also need to be able to accept responsibility, work effectively in a team environment, and cope with the physical demands of the job.

Requirements
  • Have Individual Support (Disability) Certificate III or higher.
  • Have experience working with people with disability who have support needs, particularly with mental health issues.
  • Previous skills and qualifications in medication assistance and/or administration highly recommended.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of incident reporting, quality documentation, complaints handling, and complex behavior strategic support.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Own a vehicle with comprehensive insurance and willingness to use it for work purposes.
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Open Drivers Licence.
  • Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Card.
