The role involves designing and documenting residential solar systems, supporting the installation team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with sales teams on Panel Layouts, Potential System Performances, ROI calculations, and Shading Analysis.
- Provide technical expertise to representatives, coordinators, installers, and customer service staff.
- Ensure accurate and complete supporting documentation for order processing.
- Prepare project documentation in coordination with stakeholders.
- Assess energy consumption data for existing buildings and design tailored systems meeting client requirements.
- Generate comprehensive Work Orders for installers, including Voltage Rise calculations and Single Line Diagrams.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and address queries promptly.
- Offer post-sales support to customers regarding system monitoring and performance inquiries.
- Respond efficiently to engineering support requests from staff.
- Adhere to project timelines and company policies.
- Participate in regular team meetings.
- Undertake additional tasks as required, leveraging skill sets across different divisions or departments.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams for timely and accurate sourcing of materials.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate and optimize existing solar installations for improved performance and efficiency.
- Assist in developing proposals and technical presentations for client meetings.
- Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in similar roles within the solar industry.
- SAA design accreditation for grid-connected systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite/Office 365, AutoCAD, and PVSyst.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical and structural engineering principles related to solar energy systems.
- Familiarity with local permitting processes and building codes related to solar installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Exceptional communication skills and adaptability in diverse team environments.
- Dedication to achieving company objectives.
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplined, multi-skilled teams.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Driven to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.
- Previous design and operations support experience is desirable.
