Job Opportunity

The Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Canberra Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Medicine specialist to join their team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced physician to work in a dynamic environment, delivering high-quality patient care while also contributing to research and education.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical services as a Respiratory Medicine specialist, including diagnostic investigations and therapeutic interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in medical education and training programs, including teaching and supervising junior staff.
  • Maintain strong research links with local universities and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in respiratory medicine.
  • Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and meet credentialing requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Meet credentialing requirements and receive an Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC).
  • Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
  • Comply with Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
