About the Role

This position requires a seasoned professional to lead the execution of complex capital projects. The successful candidate will oversee the city's annual capital works program and provide strategic leadership to a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align programs with the organization's strategic direction and community aspirations.
  • Apply awareness of political, social, and legal factors to all initiatives.
  • Identify risks and opportunities impacting the organization.
  • Provide high-level advice to stakeholders to enhance project planning and delivery.
  • Lead the delivery of the approved capital works program, ensuring innovation and risk mitigation.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in project management and leadership, as well as experience in delivering major capital works projects. They will be responsible for managing contracts, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with safety and building standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Current driver's license.
  • White Card.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in delivery of capital projects in a local government environment.
  • Additional studies in business, finance, urban planning, and/or management.
