Senior Technical Leadership Role

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned executive leader to shape the future of rail engineering and passenger services. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be part of our Leadership Team, driving strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and commercially competitive rail services.

  • Provide resources and expertise to support best practice asset management across the network.
  • Lead commercial contracts and supply chain services, focusing on performance, planning, contract management, and commercial acumen.
  • Deliver design, engineering, and technical assurance services to ensure safety and integrity.
  • Manage fleet maintenance services, prioritizing cleanliness, operational readiness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee large-scale maintenance, renewal, and enhancements on railway assets, including track, signals, control systems, electrical, and operational technology.

Your strong leadership background and experience within engineering and/or maintenance fields will inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve exceptional results.

About You
  • Demonstrated leadership in a senior role, preferably with a rail or engineering background.
  • Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams and with other executive leaders.
  • Ability to confidently lead engineers and technical experts while challenging when necessary.
  • Strong experience building relationships with stakeholders at all levels and articulating complex concepts.
  • Proven track record of leading through change and cultural reform, prioritizing team maturity and employee wellbeing.
  • Customer-centric approach to safety and quality.
