Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Production Manager to join our team at Independence Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading the mine operations department and our underground contractor to ensure budget forecasts are achieved safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Safety
    • Drive and promote a positive safety culture onsite through initiatives that include visible safety leadership and regular inspections of the underground workplace;
    • Act as the Alternate Underground Mine Manager when required;
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Provide leadership and mentoring to your team including junior mining professionals;
  • Contractor Management
    • Management of IGO's mining contractor on daily operations with input into higher-level management of the contractor;
  • Operational Improvement and Safety
    • Management of operational improvement and safety projects;
  • Support to Mine Management
    • Providing support to the mine management team;
  • Quality Assurance and Control
    • Leadership for quality assurance and quality control;
  • Budget Management
    • Accurate management of budgets;
  • Process Development
    • Continuous development of the systems and processes that drive value;

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mining accompanied with extensive underground experience in a similar senior role;
  • DEMIRS First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (or interstate equivalent);
  • Thorough knowledge of Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations;
  • A hands-on and collaborative approach towards leading teams and engaging with all stakeholders;
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication, literacy, and presentation skills;
  • A focus on continuous improvement to achieve/exceed industry best practices;
  • High level of computer literacy, inclusive of skills operating mining software and drilling database packages;
  • Valid 'C' class manual driver's licence;
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months;
