About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at Plus ES. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of emerging technologies and products in metering and communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, test, and implement new metering and communications systems to meet business requirements
  • Configure, improve, and troubleshoot existing metering and communications systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Communicate new processes and technologies to management, colleagues, installers, and consumers
  • Contribute to the planning of future products and services, staying informed about relevant legislation and regulations
  • Provide engineering and operational support for all metering activities, driving engineering improvements to reduce communication faults
  • Monitor the performance of the meter fleet, focusing on communication efficiency and fault rates to ensure alignment with financial year budgets
  • Proactively identify and address meter reading issues that may impact customer SLAs, planning and implementing remedial actions
  • Assess, test, and integrate new products into the Plus ES ecosystem of hardware and software solutions
  • Work with communication providers to enhance operational improvements for Plus ES's product offerings
  • Assist in the release management of the metering Head End System, Vodafone IoT platform, Telstra JASPER software releases, and perform network regression and lab testing
  • Contribute to achieving the goals outlined in the business plan, conduct tender assessments and analysis of new metering and communications equipment, and develop comprehensive work instructions
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronic, or Communication Engineering with relevant industry experience
  • Strong electrical engineering analysis skills, particularly in electricity metering, communications equipment, and modern microelectronics
  • Experience with contemporary telecommunications systems, measurement, and microelectronics
  • Background in developing and maintaining procedures for laboratory and general metering equipment
  • Knowledge or experience in modern electronics volume manufacturing and design, including interaction with factories
  • Familiarity with project management techniques and the ability to set priorities
  • Proficiency in computer systems, documentation, spreadsheets, databases, and low-level software and hardware operation
  • Experience in testing equipment and techniques
