Executive Leadership Opportunity

The Tasmanian Government is seeking a high-calibre individual to lead the Mental Health Reform Services Executive Leadership team.

This is a dynamic and experienced team that works collaboratively to develop, deliver and evaluate policies, programs and initiatives within the Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) that influence service and strategic directions in Tasmania.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated high-level knowledge and understanding of national and State policy frameworks and operations, coupled with extensive experience and proven expertise in the design, management and implementation of services, programs, and initiatives.

The Group Director will provide high-quality leadership in a complex professional work environment, imparting vision, leading and motivating others to gain cooperation and establishing long-term strategic goals.

They will also demonstrate senior high-level management skills, including effectively managing financial, human, physical and information resources, and monitoring effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Lead the Mental Health Reform Services Executive Leadership team
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate policies, programs and initiatives within SMHS
  • Design, manage and implement services, programs, and initiatives
  • Provide high-quality leadership in a complex professional work environment
  • Effectively manage financial, human, physical and information resources

This role requires a tertiary qualification or degree in a relevant discipline, or extensive experience in the management and delivery of health services, particularly mental health and/or alcohol, drug, and forensic services. The employee must also hold current and valid registration/licences essential to the role.
