About the Role
The Workday Finance Specialist will play a critical role in configuring and customizing the Workday system for our finance modules, troubleshooting issues, providing training and support to finance users, and contributing to system enhancements.
This role requires a strong understanding of Workday, finance domain knowledge, analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and customize the Workday system for our finance modules, including setting up financial hierarchies, charts of accounts, cost centers, and other financial elements.
- Work closely with finance stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and identify system gaps or areas for improvement.
- Test and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and functionality of the Workday system, including unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the finance modules in Workday, including investigating system errors, identifying root causes, and implementing appropriate solutions or workarounds.
- Provide training and support to finance users on how to effectively use the Workday system for their day-to-day operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance users, IT teams, and external consultants, in providing ongoing support of the Workday finance system.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of the Workday platform, particularly in the finance modules, including knowledge of finance business processes, financial reporting, budgeting, procurement, and expense management.
- A solid understanding of finance and accounting principles, including knowledge of financial controls, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience in configuring and customizing Workday to meet specific finance system requirements, including setting up and maintaining financial hierarchies, charts of accounts, cost centers, and other financial elements.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze complex finance system requirements, identify gaps, and propose effective solutions.
- The ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions, including identifying process improvements, streamlining workflows, and resolving system-related problems efficiently.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to gather requirements, explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
