Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to join our team. As a Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and managing project quality control plans to ensure construction meets or exceeds all contract requirements.

You will have day-to-day operational responsibility to the Project Manager and/or Project Superintendent, and functional responsibility to the Director of Quality Control.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as QC Manager reporting primarily to the Project Manager/Superintendent, with additional functional responsibilities to the Director of Quality Control.
  2. Manage and maintain a healthy client relationship while protecting company interests.
  3. Become intimately familiar with all plans and specifications that govern the project.
  4. Develop and implement the Project Quality Control Plan to ensure contract compliance.
  5. Effectively communicate QC Plan expectations and requirements with all stakeholders.
  6. Perform quality inspections per contract requirements and the 3-phase quality system.
  7. Proactively inspect in-process work to ensure contract conformance and minimize rework.
  8. Establish inspection protocols for off-site work to ensure high-quality standards are enforced.
  9. Manage the efforts of all third-party testing and inspection companies supporting the project.
  10. Review all submittals to ensure compliance with contract specifications before submission.
  11. Perform internal/external audits as necessary to ensure compliance with the QC Plan.
  12. Maintain and manage RFI and Non-Conformance Registers to resolve all construction issues.
  13. Submit meaningful quality information in daily/weekly/monthly QC Reports.
  14. Assist in the development and preparation of QC Plans for future projects.
Qualifications
  1. Military airfield Paving Experience preferred.
  2. Minimum 5+ years experience managing a US Federal Government (NAVFAC, USACE, etc) QC Program with multiple specialists under their leadership.
  3. Minimum 5+ years as QC professional on construction projects valued $10M+; required.
  4. 2-yr or 4-yr Degree in construction, or engineering, or related fields; strongly desired.
  5. USACE CQCM certification strongly desired, or must attain within 30 days of hiring.
  6. 30-hour OSHA certification strongly desired, or must attain within 30 days of hiring.
  7. Proficiency with a computer and with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel); required.
  8. Ability to speak, read and write fluent English; required.
  9. Ability to successfully pass background/security check; required.
  10. Secret or above Security Clearance; strongly desired.
