Job Role

The Black Venue Assistant supports the Food and Beverage Supervisor in managing the cafe's daily operations, ensuring menu items are consistently high-quality and prepared in a clean, hygienic setting.

Collaborating with the Events and Catering Supervisor to enhance the experience of patrons and clients at The Bryan Brown Theatre and function rooms, making their visits enjoyable and comfortable.

Duties:
  • Set up the cafe in preparation for trade.
  • Prepare and serve the daily menu and any required specials.
  • Ensure preplanning for each day in particular for functions, special events and activities.
  • Keep the cafe, meeting rooms and surrounds, all equipment and fixtures clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Assist with theatre shows and events.
  • Provide quality service of hot and cold beverages.
  • Operate Council's POS system including cash registers and adhere to Councils Cash handling guidelines.
  • Contribute to the positive image of council by ensuring effective public and customer relations, maintaining a high standard of personal presentation and demonstrating personal integrity, honesty and respect for customers at all times.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in cafe, catering, theatre or catering and serving for functions.
  • Experience in food handling safe practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service to ensure high service delivery.
  • Hold RSA or willingness to obtain if successful.
