Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for performing admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at our hospital. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign accurate Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and complete medical necessity/compliance checks for all patients.
  • Provide proper patient instructions and collect insurance information, physician orders, and other relevant documentation.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable.
  • Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service in all interactions with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Meet point-of-service (POS) goals and objectives, including accurate and timely registration of patient accounts.
  • Conduct audits of accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness of all forms and documentation.
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians, obtain necessary signatures, and witness names.
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes, enter benefit data into systems to support POS and billing processes.
  • Screen medical necessity using Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software and distribute ABNs as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Certified Registration Coordinator (CRCR) certification required within 9 months of hire (company-paid).
