Position Overview: Network Security Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

 Assess and enhance security measures while facilitating the installation of suitable network access to strengthen the security framework.

 Conduct risk evaluations on systems, oversee firewall operations, revise security protocols, and monitor all network activities.

 Demonstrate foresight to predict potential security issues and apply analytical skills to resolve problems, ensuring system security is upheld at all times.

 Oversee and execute all network security protocols, maintaining comprehensive documentation for each process.

 Identify security vulnerabilities through regular audits of hardware and software components within the network and implement solutions to mitigate these risks.

Required Expertise:

 Proficiency with Next Generation Firewalls.

 Expertise in Routing and Switching.

 Familiarity with Load Balancer technologies, particularly the BIG-IP product suite, including Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM), Access Policy Manager (APM), and Application Security Manager (ASM), with the capability to resolve intricate issues.

o Comprehensive understanding of load balancing and clustering (LTM/GTM).

 Strong knowledge of security principles related to Network Security technologies.

 Experience in network forensics or endpoint forensics.

 Familiarity with Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA), HSM, and DDoS mitigation solutions.

 Competence in Endpoint, Web, and Email Security.

Additional Skills:

 Evaluate and recommend security protocols and requirements for the organization.

 Analyze security threats and formulate response strategies.

 Develop and document custom tools, reviewing and enhancing security systems to bolster network security.

 Solid understanding of industry standards, practices, and emerging trends.

 Engage in various network administration initiatives to promote cross-functional collaboration.

While Network Administrators are not typically programmers or systems engineers, a solid understanding of programming and scripting languages is essential, as well as familiarity with widely accepted concepts and practices. This knowledge will enable them to identify security vulnerabilities and provide guidance to developers on potential risk areas and measures to enhance security.

Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as a subject matter expert in designing complex networks.

 In-depth knowledge of various protocols essential for effective communication across diverse network devices.

 Practical experience with Dynamic Routing Protocols.

 Hands-on experience managing Firewalls, IPSec/SSL VPNs, Load Balancers, and Proxy/Web Filtering.

 Understanding of both Public and Private Cloud infrastructures.

 Strong analytical skills in information technology to address challenges and make organization-wide decisions.

 Attention to detail and excellent organizational capabilities.

 Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.

 High emotional intelligence and capacity to perform under pressure.
