Heavy Machinery Assembly and Maintenance Specialist

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Machinery Assembly and Maintenance Specialist to join our team in the Mining Assembly division. The successful candidate will work in a state-of-the-art workshop based at Forrestdale Branch, assembling, maintaining and repairing a wide range of mining and construction equipment to customer specifications.

You will be responsible for:

  • Repairing and maintaining new and used heavy machinery
  • Ensuring all machine assembly is completed as scheduled, while maintaining quality standards
  • Assembling Hitachi's range of Mining Equipment, including EX1200-7 - EX8000-7 Excavators and EH3500-3 - EH5000-3 Haul Trucks
  • Conducting basic failure analysis and identifying modes of failure
  • Preparing and testing pre-delivery inspections of new equipment
  • Ensuring work is performed in a safe manner
  • Completing relevant paperwork and reports
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment in line with 5S standards
  • Liaising closely with supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery targets are achieved
  • Assisting supervisors with other related duties

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Evaluate safety priorities above all else
  • Hold Australian Mobile Plant, Fitter Machinist qualifications or similar trade experience
  • Be technically skilled and mechanically experienced/able
  • Have good communication skills and ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Have experience in a similar role or workshop environment
