Excavation Equipment Operator

Randstad is seeking a skilled Excavation Equipment Operator to fill an ongoing position in Hobart, with the potential for long-term employment.
Job Summary:
We require an experienced Quarry Operator to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable operation of our client's Landfill in line with site management plans, approvals, and legislative requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Construct and maintain site infrastructure
- Pull, compact, and cover waste; monitor and maintain waste areas
- Control and direct trucks and contractors on-site
- Evaluate waste acceptance criteria and document accepted materials
- Implement safety and hazard control measures
- Maintain fence lines and perform pre-operational inspections
- Assist with site operations and improvements; maintain housekeeping
- Operate mobile screening equipment and perform laboring activities
- Perform plant and machinery operations – work effectively in a team
Essential Attributes and Experience:
- Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience operating earthmoving equipment, heavy rigid trucks, or civil construction equipment
- Familiarity with environmental impacts and WHS practices
- Able to complete tasks safely and efficiently; work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated literacy and numeracy skills; commitment to continuous improvement
- Knowledge of recycling works or civil construction operations
Qualifications:
- Current Heavy Rigid or higher license (essential)
- Construction White Card (essential)
- Current excavator, front end, skid steer etc. licenses (essential)
- Experience in mobile screening and crushing, recycling, and civil construction (highly desirable)
- Physically fit and able to pass DNA tests (essential)
- Up-to-date immunizations (essential)
$65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
