
Research Scientist in Immune System Biology

We are seeking an exceptional researcher to join our team as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics and Systems Immunology. The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant research group focused on understanding the complex interactions between the immune system and viral infections.
The position involves conducting cutting-edge bioinformatics and systems biology analyses of single-cell transcriptomics, flow cytometry, and next-generation sequencing data to study immune responses against viral pathogens, such as HCV and influenza.
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in computational biology, mathematics, or biostatistics, with expertise in bioinformatics and/or computational biology. Experience in genomics and/or transcriptomics analyses is highly desirable.
You will be working closely with colleagues from various disciplines to develop and apply innovative analytical approaches to better understand the immune system's response to viral infections.

The position is available for 1 year, renewable up to 4 years, with a competitive salary range of AUD $89,051 – $95,248 per annum (plus superannuation).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced bioinformatics and systems biology analyses of large-scale datasets
- Develop and implement novel analytical methods to study immune responses
- Collaborate with researchers from diverse backgrounds to advance knowledge in immunology and bioinformatics
- Present research findings at international conferences and publish in top-tier journals
Requirements:
- PhD in computational biology, mathematics, or biostatistics
- Strong programming skills in languages such as R, Python, or C++
- Experience in genomics and/or transcriptomics analyses
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
