Job Description

The role of Principal Environmental Officer involves working on industrial and mining processes with a focus on geology and/or geochemistry. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of matters such as mining waste management, storage and disposal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform statutory assessment functions for mineral mining and downstream mineral mining projects across Queensland.
  • Evaluate and make decisions around applications relating to environmental authorities, progressive rehabilitation and closure plans, and estimated rehabilitation costs.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in geology and/or geochemistry.
  • Understanding of mining waste management, storage and disposal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information

This role may be based at our Office locations at either Cairns, Townsville or Brisbane, but you may be required to travel to other locations, including overnight.
