We are seeking a highly skilled Actuary/Data Scientist to join our team at Bluefin Resources. As an Assistant Director - EL1 Actuary Data Scientist, you will play a key role in the Scheme Forecasting and Effectiveness Branch of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight to data analysis, policy proposals, and stakeholder management.
- Develop and communicate technical, professional, and policy advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Research and implement innovative techniques and methods to solve business issues.
- Design actuarial, statistical, and mathematical models to analyze data and respond to business needs.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Agency Policy Branch, Home and Living, Legal teams, and Service Design.
- Effectively communicate and present the outcomes of work undertaken to stakeholders.
- 5+ years of Actuarial or Data Analytics/Science experience supporting Government policy development.
- Experience managing a team of 5+.
- Proficient in SAS, SQL, or R programming, including data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling techniques, including GLM and GBMs.
- Australian Citizenship.
This is a 12-month daily rate contract opportunity with the possibility of extension. Candidates must be based in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide, or Brisbane. Daily rate will depend on candidate's experience.
