Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

The role of a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician involves diagnosing, maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and equipment on-site.

This field-based position requires a proactive, hands-on approach to ensure our fleet and machinery remain in optimal condition and perform at their best.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair and maintain heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment and other machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks and services.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems and more.
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency calls in the field promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to ensure smooth operations.

To be considered, candidates should possess:

  • A trade certificate in Heavy Duty or Automotive Mechanics.
  • Proven experience in a similar field mechanic role.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • A white card (Construction Induction).
  • A valid driver's license (HR or higher preferred).
  • Experience with road haulage and heavy plant equipment.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites and work flexible hours as needed.
