Clinical Director Opportunity

The role of Clinical Director at Sutherland Hospital presents a unique chance for a Senior Staff Specialist Psychiatrist to take on a key leadership position.

As a member of the healthcare team, you will be part of an enthusiastic and award-winning hospital committed to delivering exceptional patient care and services.

  • Provide strong medical leadership and collaborate with a consumer-centred team to develop and maintain high-quality mental health services.
  • Advocate for the healthcare needs of the community and deliver a focused healthcare service that meets these needs.

The successful candidate will report to the Service Director and work collaboratively with the District Clinical Director. This is a permanent position, comprising 0.5FTE Clinical Director role and 0.5FTE Staff Specialist role in Adult Psychiatry.

About the Mental Health Service

The Sutherland Mental Health Service comprises a 28 Bed Acute MH Unit, a 5 bed MH Rehabilitation Unit, and Mental Health Community Teams providing Care Coordination and Acute Care support to consumers in the community.

The service is situated within the General Hospital, which has 375 general medical beds.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of FRANZCP and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
  • Demonstrate subspecialty training in Adult Psychiatry.
  • Have strong knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement processes associated with mental health services.
  • Display clinical leadership experience at a senior level and demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring junior staff.
