About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and students. We are seeking an experienced professional who can provide quality cultural, social and practical support to assist indigenous students in their studies and gain employment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing programs and sourcing training opportunities to maximise employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. They will also maintain an understanding of funding arrangements and initiatives, and proactively seek new funding opportunities to support Indigenous training and employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;">
  • Maintain relationships with Indigenous community organisations, government departments and employers to promote TAFE Queensland programs;">
  • Provide support and guidance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students on academic, personal and career matters;">
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting Indigenous students;">
  • Monitor and report on the progress and learning activities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;">

Requirements

We are looking for someone with highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills, as well as a sound knowledge and understanding of, and the ability to appropriately and effectively engage with, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with Indigenous communities and students, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
