Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled principal to lead our corporate sport team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and client satisfaction of our book of business.

You will work closely with our clients, acting as their trusted risk advisor, pursuing new business development, and expanding the value we deliver to our clients by matching their needs with our risk tools.

As a leader in our team, you will mentor and support junior brokers, providing them with guidance and expertise to help them grow in their careers.

Our ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance policies, strong leadership skills, and a passion for sport and team cultures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance marketplace to review clients' exposures and develop solutions
  • Presenting market trends and premium changes at client board meetings
  • Investing in personal relationships with key client contacts across your book of business, and contributing to the whole team's growth
  • Conducting and analyzing research to maintain a comprehensive understanding of personal accounts and coinciding needs of our clients
  • Executing renewal/placement strategies in conjunction with our placement and product specialists and executing in accordance with client instructions
  • Assisting in presentations to prospective clients and developing innovative solutions to gain new clients and projects
  • Understanding our clients' needs and coordinating opportunities to leverage our advanced risk product offerings, market trend analysis and consulting practices to best serve their risk requirements
  • Freedom to define and execute the strategy for your team, and contribute to the Corporate Sport team strategic outlook
  • Assessing, refining and developing internal process and operational procedures to ensure they best support your client requirements
  • Attending and participating in industry events, sporting events and conferences and client functions to build up a strong professional network, maintain proximity to the relevant market and represent us and our product offerings and solutions

Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience within a commercial insurance environment, with strong experience in corporate insurance products (particularly Public Liability, Association Liability, Directors and Officers, Personal Accident, etc.)
  • Insurance broker's license
  • Business acumen including a well-rounded knowledge of general business function, finance and issues
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • People-management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization including the 'C' Suite
  • To have strong organization skills with an ability to prioritize work, multi-task and consistently meet deadlines
  • Passion for sport and engaging in team cultures
