Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team. As a key member of the project finance team, you will be responsible for preparing monthly project finance reports and ensuring all project accounting activities are completed in accordance with timetables and company policies.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts for projects, including variance analysis and actuals, commitments, and estimate to complete forecasts.
  • Review transactional information to ensure correct allocation and coding to projects, and prepare and process month-end accruals and journals associated with projects.
  • Communicate project results to stakeholders, including project directors and hospital finance directors.
  • Prepare capitalization schedules of assets throughout the project and maintain fixed asset registers.
  • Assist with project finance requests and support project managers with finance-related tasks.
  • Maintain accurate project budgets and forecasts within Oracle Projects.

Requirements

  • Qualifications:
  • A tertiary level qualification in Accounting or Commerce and possession of a CA or CPA qualification.
  • 1-2 years' experience in project and/or capital accounting, preferably with exposure to ERP systems like Oracle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organization and time management skills.

As a successful candidate, you will have a positive attitude, be self-driven, and possess a can-do approach. You will also have sound knowledge of accounting standards, particularly when applied to project and capital accounting.
