Leisure Services Officer - Aquatic Lifeguard Role

In this role, you will be working in an aquatic leisure environment to deliver and supervise safe and enjoyable experiences for patrons. A qualified and experienced candidate is preferred.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing supervision, education, and care that aligns with the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations
  • Maintaining compliance with current Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations
  • Ensuring a safe area of responsibility when required to be away from active scanning
  • Providing first aid and emergency care
  • Performing water rescues
  • Facilitating a safe and enjoyable environment through prevention, patron education, and safety
  • Regular safety checks of isolated areas as per deployment plan
  • Periodic checks of saunas and spas to ensure only members and paying casuals are using them
  • Completion of administrative reports as required

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • An understanding of the leisure industry and its commercial orientation
  • Knowledge of swimming and lifesaving techniques and RLSSA awards and practices in relation to aquatic activities
  • The ability to work evenings and weekends
  • A current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, and Pool Lifeguard certificate
  • A current Working with Children's Check
