Empowerment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Empowerment Specialist to join our team. As an Empowerment Specialist, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between individuals with disability and employment opportunities.

This part-time role offers 22.8 hours a week and is responsible for delivering services across the four phases of Customised Employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with clients, families, and stakeholders, as well as investigating and understanding unmet needs of employers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, and stakeholders.
  • Bridge the gap between clients with disability and employment opportunities by researching industry trends and identifying potential job matches.
  • Investigate and understand unmet needs of employers through negotiation and liaison.
  • Facilitate engaging one-on-one sessions to empower clients to achieve their goals.
  • Research industry trends to identify opportunities and provide solutions to meet client needs.
  • Liaise with local businesses and potential employers on behalf of our clients.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative processes and policies.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Employment Services, Disability Support, or Community Services.
  • Strong labour market knowledge and employer networking skills.
  • Creativity in developing customised employment solutions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for empowering people with disability to achieve their goals.
  • Driver's License for travel to meet clients.

Bonus Skills:

  • Certification in Disability, HR, Sales & Marketing, Support Coordination, or related fields.
  • Experience in Disability Employment Services (DES) or NDIS employment supports.
