Project Cost Control Specialist Role

Job Description:

Our organisation is seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the project controls function, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely cost information to support business decision-making.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile monthly SAP costs and ensure accuracy of financial reporting
  • Identify and address discrepancies in indirect costs, including flights, accommodation, and timesheets
  • Verify facility and commodity coding to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Support the preparation of capital appropriation requests (CARs) and raise project cost transfers where necessary
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of project cash flow forecasts and provide regular cost and change management reports

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of cost systems and software tools
  • Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills, with the ability to verify and cross-check data accuracy across systems
  • Experience with running reports from SAP and extracting relevant information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and drive results with minimal supervision
  • 5+ years of experience in project controls delivery
