Job Description

The Acute Rehabilitation Program is a multidisciplinary service that provides early rehabilitation in an acute hospital setting.

The successful applicant will join a team of allied health assistants working together to provide support to deliver allied health services and therapy under the delegation and guidance of the Allied Health professionals.

This role has the potential opportunity to work across all allied health areas within our team including Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Clinical Psychology as required.

This position will also be responsible for supporting the continuation of therapy programs prescribed by Allied Health professionals across weekend days to enable continuity of rehabilitation programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum qualification of Certificate III level from RTO or equivalent
  • Experience working in a healthcare or community setting as a student or AHA
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to learn and use new skills
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Well-developed organisation, time management, planning and priority setting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of normal development and medical conditions relevant to the role
  • Well-developed computer skills including use of Microsoft programs (e.g. Excel, Outlook)
