Our company is seeking a Senior Ecologist to lead projects, mentor junior staff and provide high-level technical advice across a variety of ecological and town planning projects.

  • Delivering technical ecological interpretation and advice across diverse projects
  • Leading fieldwork programs, reporting, and client liaison
  • Mentoring and supervising ecologists and subcontracted technicians
  • Applying your deep knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and biodiversity policies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on-site full-time, with occasional flexibility required. Provide expert ecological advice and input across town planning and environmental projects. Manage and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Lead project reporting, contract negotiations, invoicing and performance assessments. Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships. Prepare fee proposals, manage subcontractor accounts and monitor project financials.
  • Promote the company's environmental capabilities and contribute to business development. Ensure compliance with environmental policies, standards and procedures. Supervise and mentor team members and support their professional development.
What We're Looking For
  • Extensive experience working with a wide range of environmental planning projects with 5-10 years experience in a Senior Ecological role
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in relevant field and BAM accreditation
  • Current Driver's Licence as there is occasional field work
  • A recognised technical expert in ecological management and deep understanding of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policy
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on quality and delivery
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
