About the Role

Civitas Talent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving thought leadership in industrial relations, performance management, investigation processes, employee relations, and people policies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Maintain Industrial Relations Framework: Create and implement a robust industrial relations framework aligned with our business strategy, ensuring a pragmatic, operationally viable, and commercially savvy approach.
  2. Provide Strategic Support: Offer strategic, process, and ad hoc negotiation support to our People & Culture team and the broader business, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  3. Create People Policies: Develop and maintain people policies, including ANZ policies, standards, and guidelines, as well as standard performance improvement, investigation, and reporting processes.
  4. Manage Employee Terms and Conditions: Determine and manage employee terms and conditions, including contracts, clauses, notice periods, and restraint periods, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  5. Ensure Compliance: Collaborate with our in-house Legal team to ensure alignment, manage advice/escalations as needed, and oversee governance requirements and relationships with external advisors.
Requirements
  1. Sound Knowledge of IR/ER Legislation: Possess a deep understanding of industrial relations and employment legislation across Australia.
  2. Experience in HR: Bring several years of experience in a similar position, with a proven track record of success in HR management.
  3. Negotiation Experience: Demonstrate negotiation experience in employment bargaining agreements and unions, with the ability to build strong relationships and negotiate effectively.
  4. Continuous Improvement Mindset: Possess a continuous improvement mindset, with experience developing best practice strategies, frameworks, and tools.
  5. Commercial Acumen: Bring high commercial acumen, with the ability to make sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures.
  6. Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail, relationship management, and influencing skills.
  7. Ability to be Hands-on and Strategic: Demonstrate the ability and willingness to be both hands-on and strategic, with a focus on delivering results and driving business success.
