About the Role

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team at Swinburne University of Technology. As a key contributor to our data-driven decision-making processes, you will leverage advanced data science techniques to provide actionable insights that optimize student outcomes and support strategic initiatives across the university.

Your ability to translate complex data into meaningful solutions will be vital in shaping educational strategies that positively impact students, faculty, and the broader academic community. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, providing expert advice on complex issues and acting as a trusted business partner in analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced data science techniques to provide actionable insights and optimize student outcomes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions
  • Provide expert advice on complex issues and act as a trusted business partner in analytics
  • Leverage integrated data to develop business models and analytical applications aimed at improving business decision-making
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning Algorithms, Predictive Analytics, Regression
  • Proficiency using languages such as SQL, Python, and R and associated machine learning libraries
  • Experience with version control technologies such as Git, GitHub, Mercurial, Subversion, or similar
  • Experience providing visualizations of complex data
  • Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline
