Develop Your Coding Skills and Make a Difference in Children's Lives

As a Technology Instructor, you will play a vital role in inspiring the next generation to develop coding skills and create their own video games.

  • Deliver technology-based after-school classes for children aged 5-12, providing fun and creative learning experiences using technology.
  • Engage with students, motivate, and manage them within a classroom environment, promoting a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver lesson plans, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Set up and pack away equipment provided by Code Camp, maintaining a well-organized and efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and facilitate lesson plans to a class solo or in a team each week, utilizing drag and drop/block coding techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with Head Office via Slack if needed, ensuring seamless collaboration and support.
  • Engage with students in a fun and safe way inside and outside the classroom, fostering strong relationships and trust.
  • Complete staff training prior to the first session, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Requirements:
  • Interest in technology and ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve, thinking creatively to overcome challenges.
  • Beginner coding knowledge (preferred) - drag and drop/block coding, with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Confident in speaking in front of a small group of children and delivering provided lesson plans in a fun and engaging way.
  • Mature outlook, common sense, and ability to identify and take action to manage risk and ensure active supervision of children inside the classroom.
  • Fluent conversational English and a Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain it immediately.
  • Laptop ownership or willingness to obtain one with HDMI port connectivity.
