We are seeking a skilled Linux Kernel Engineer to join our team in delivering cutting-edge software solutions.

The successful candidate will have expertise in operating system kernel internals and concepts, with a strong background in C programming. Experience with Python, Golang, or other similar languages is highly regarded.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with a globally distributed team, working closely with external partners on bleeding-edge platforms, diagnosing and resolving issues in the kernel, and improving tooling and automation for delivery and testing of Ubuntu Linux kernels.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the development of innovative software solutions and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, combined with relevant work experience, is required for this position.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and have a strong passion for technology and innovation.

About the Role

The role entails:

  • Collaborating regularly and proactively with a globally distributed team
  • Working closely with external silicon, cloud, or hardware manufacturer delivery teams on bleeding-edge platforms
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues in the kernel reported by customers, the community, and discovered by your own rigorous testing
  • Taking personal responsibility for the delivery of a flavor of the Ubuntu Linux kernel
  • Improving tooling and automation for delivery and test of Ubuntu Linux kernels
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Significant programming experience in C, with Python, Golang, or other similar languages highly regarded
  • Experience with operating system kernel internals and concepts, Linux highly regarded but not essential
  • Solid background with Git
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
