**Job Title:** GIS AnalystWe are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to join our team.About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing reports and plans that contribute to strategic policy. They will assist in providing clear policy advice across government and within the department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality advice to support the delivery of key projects and outcomes, including the preparation of government submissions, business cases and reports, responses to issues papers and implementation plans
  • Developing and contributing to high-quality briefings, meeting papers and presentations and correspondence, consistent with key policy objectives for a range of audiences
  • SUPPORTING THE IDENTIFICATION OF EMERGING, COMPLEX OR HIGHLY SENSITIVE ISSUES, RISKS AND TRENDS IMPACTING THE SUCCESSFUL ACHIEVEMENT OF OBJECTIVES AND PRIORITIES AND DEVELOPING SOLUTIONS
  • Communicating, negotiating and building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve required outcomes
  • Undertaking spatial data automation and analysis, automated spatial data processing and general programming
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Intermediate to advanced capability in automated spatial data processing and general programming, including understanding of spatial algorithms and data structures behind GIS software tools

Experience in using, manipulating and querying data held in spatial and non-spatial databases is mandatory

Government work experience in a similar role

Strong stakeholder management skills
