About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field and Laboratory Operations Specialist to join our team in Perth, Australia. This is a full-time position that involves splitting time between fieldwork in Newman and lab work at Perth Airport.

This role requires organizing and executing essential field operations in the Pilbara region and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field, and experience as a Field Sampling Technician in the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collecting samples such as Potable Water, Waste Water, Sewage Water, Soil, and Hygiene samples.
  • Preparing daily field reports and maintaining all sampling and field equipment.
  • Performing required QC checks and collecting QC samples as requested.
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships with clients.
  • Arranging field consumables, sampling media, and equipment as required for each job.
  • Preparing Job Safety Analysis and risk assessments as needed for each allocated job.
Laboratory Work:
  • Undertaking routine preparations and analysis of soil and water samples.
  • Ensuring laboratory cleanliness to avoid contamination and protect company assets.
  • Carrying out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance according to written procedures.
  • Understanding and adapting general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
  • Using safety and personal protective equipment correctly when necessary.
Requirements:
  • A degree qualification in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven technical skills in the mining sector, with experience as a Field Sampling Technician.
  • Experience in customer service and client communication.
  • A C-class manual driver's license.
  • 4WD training.
  • Senior First Aid certification.
Estimated Salary:

$70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
