About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and culturally sensitive Family Support Worker to join our team at the CHaD Centre. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a critical role in engaging with families and children from referral through to completion of the program, ensuring cultural safety and contributing to program planning and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective support to Aboriginal children and their families in a learning and health development environment.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver culturally appropriate primary healthcare and build positive relationships with Aboriginal families.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase family engagement, enrolments, and children's participation and attendance.
  • Identify and address the needs of Aboriginal families, providing support and guidance to ensure their well-being and safety.
Requirements
  • Identify as an Aboriginal person and be recognised and accepted as such by the Aboriginal community.
  • Hold a minimum Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent, and have sufficient knowledge or experience in working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven experience in providing support to Aboriginal children and their families in a learning and health development environment.
  • A current NT Drivers Licence, or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
