The role of System Integration Specialist at BURGEON IT SERVICES involves undertaking activities related to the installation and deployment of systems and applications for Grid planning and operations.

This position contributes to achieving key milestones by supporting project activities related to delivering Grid Monitoring and Analysis systems for SCADA and Energy Management System applications required for Grid Planning and Operations.

Opportunities exist for implementing complex systems blocks required for Australian Energy System Operation and its long-term goal of net zero emissions.

Mandatory skills/experience include:

  • Installation of Grid Monitoring and Grid Analysis applications
  • Configuration of overall systems for business specific requirements with e-terra suite / technology stack
  • Design activities and building overall pipelines required for end-to-end systems integration of e-Terra applications
  • Hands-on experience in working on application integration – State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Power Flow, Var Dispatch Scheduler, Automatic generation Control and Economic Dispatch
  • Understanding of real-time and critical grid operation scenarios required for Grid Security & Reliability
  • Detailed knowledge of multiple applications under e-terra suite and how these applications work together
  • Ability to understand project specific requirements
  • Coordination with internal stakeholders such as Grid Modelling teams, System Operations and Market Operations and Development Teams
  • Creation and maintenance of quality documentation for System Installation, Administration, Configuration and Interfacing

Desired skills/experience include:

  • 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in System Installation, Engineering, Configuration, Deployment and testing of integrations of various applications of e-Terra software packages
  • Strong power system analysis capability is preferred
  • Sound knowledge of grid system operations, Grid security and reliability, Network Modelling is preferred
