About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Lead to join our team at WSP Global Inc. in Darwin. As a key member of our Property and Buildings group, you will be responsible for leading and managing project teams to design and deliver electrical engineering projects for our clients in the Public and Private sectors.

About the Role

  • Provide electrical design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time
  • Be a mentor to engineers in the team, providing technical advice and soft skills
  • Project lead medium to large size building engineering design, including project resources and delivery management
  • Communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders
  • Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of the business unit against strategic goals

About You

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work within a friendly team environment
  • Familiarity with other Building Services disciplines, with the ability to engage with those team members and evaluate design solutions
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience working within the building services sector, utilizing Australian building codes and standards
  • A track record of effectively handling competing priorities, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines
  • Well-versed across a range of building sectors, e.g., commercial, health, defence, education
  • Professional Engineer qualifications and/or Engineers Australia chartership would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of project finance and commercials
