About the Role

The Remote Operations Centre at Whitehaven Coal is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor - Control ROC to lead a team focused on safe and productive controlling and monitoring of equipment, operations, and production.

This full-time permanent position is based at our Brisbane corporate office and offers a 12.5hr shifts, 4:5:5:4 rotating day/night roster lifestyle. As a Supervisor – Control ROC, you will be responsible for overseeing processing/refining control systems to safeguard commodity production and reduce downtime/waste during processing/refining operations.

You will operate and optimize the mining fleet management systems, troubleshoot production problems to effectively deliver on production and safety targets. Additionally, you will review production trends, troubleshoot safety and production risks for efficient mine operations, and manage delay capturing/accounting, ensuring accurate data entry in fleet management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee processing/refining control systems to safeguard commodity production and reduce downtime/waste during processing/refining operations
  • Operate and optimize the mining fleet management systems, troubleshoot production problems to effectively deliver on production and safety targets
  • Review production trends, troubleshoot safety and production risks for efficient mine operations
  • Manage delay capturing/accounting, ensuring accurate data entry in fleet management systems
  • Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems
  • Identify and assess risks, make risk-informed decisions, and use Whitehaven's risk management framework to build a risk-aware culture

Requirements

  • Experience as a leader onsite within a mining or processing environment
  • Strong processing knowledge and understanding of control systems
  • Ability to assess threats/opportunities, make informed decisions, and foster a risk-aware culture
  • Foster inclusion, balance team capabilities, enable change, and share an engaging vision for team alignment and high performance
  • Prioritize work effort and resources accordingly, striving to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value, and 0% waste
