Enterprise Data Migration Expert

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead the migration of reporting assets from traditional databases to cloud-based platforms within our enterprise data platform.

The role involves rebuilding data models, validating business logic, and ensuring reports continue to deliver accurate insights post-migration.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop Business Intelligence packages using a suite of tools.
  • Define joins, relationships, and business keys between consumption entities.
  • Optimise the model to ensure performance and accuracy for reporting users.
  • Migrate and validate Business Intelligence reports (scheduled and ad-hoc) from traditional databases to cloud-based platforms.
  • Ensure queries embedded within Business Intelligence reports are updated and tested against the new backend.
  • Resolve issues related to joins, key changes, or data mismatches during migration.
  • Review and optimise SQL generated by Business Intelligence tools to ensure efficiency on cloud-based platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and debug report execution issues caused by query or model changes.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers and Business Intelligence Operations to validate migrated entities.
  • Provide support to business users in accessing data via ad-hoc queries and reports.
  • Document model changes, report migration steps, and provide knowledge sharing.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in designing and developing Business Intelligence packages.
  • Experience in migrating and validating Business Intelligence reports.
  • Familiarity with SQL and its application in Business Intelligence tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
