The Parliament House Art Collections, a nationally significant collection of over 6,000 works of Australian art, requires experienced curators to join our team.



About the Role


This role is part of the Collections Care unit within the Art Collections section, Design Integrity and Collections Branch. You will be responsible for the custody, care, development, and promotion of the Parliament House Art Collections.



Key Responsibilities



  • Curating and maintaining the Parliament House Art Collections in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to promote the collections and engage with various audiences.
  • Working closely with the Art Collections team to ensure the highest standards of collection care and management.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve the Department's objectives.


What We Offer


We offer an estimated annual salary of around $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic work environment.



Requirements



  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as art history, museum studies, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in curating and managing art collections, preferably in a similar context.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • A high level of discretion and ability to work independently.
